As a Regional Director, she is responsible for project design and implementation, as well as pursuing business development opportunities in the Middle East.  Prior to working with FSVC, Ms. Gerges spent several years working in positions related to development with FIAN International, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Right to Food, and as an Agronomist/Local Project Coordinator for Oxfam Italia.  Ms. Gerges holds an MA in sustainable development at the Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University and a BSc and MSc in agricultural engineering and animal science at the American University of Beirut.
